Michael Kennemer was born in Texas, the son of James and Peggy Kennemer. The family moved to Alameda, Calif. when Michael was young and he attended school and graduated from Encinal High School in Alameda. He worked for 30 years in road construction as a partner with his father. Together they worked on many roads in the Santa Clara County area. Later he worked as an estimator for Paving Construction Company in the San Jose area.

Michael was a member of the NRA and the Operating Engineers Union and he was on the Sherriff’s Posse for a while. An outdoorsman, Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing, too. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant brother Kenneth. He is survived by daughters, Danielle (Michael) Johnston and Colleen Kennemer, both of Turlock; three grandchildren; and sisters: Tammy (Tom) Davis of Hollister, Patty (Rob) Wickham of Martinez and Kandee (Gregg) Stolesen of Lakeport.
A memorial service to honor Michael will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 at Allen Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be considered for American Cancer Society, 1604 Ford Ave., Suite 8, Modesto, CA 95350 or Hospice of Emanuel, 1850 Colorado Ave., Turlock, CA 95382.
