A graveside service will be held for Milton Alvine at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 22 at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 16 at the age of 90. He was born in Illinois on December 12, 1918.
He was married to his beloved wife Shirley for 65 years. Milton was a devoted father of two children: Nicki Iturreria and husband Joe, and Jack Alvine and wife Gail. He has 6 Grandchildren of whom he was very proud: Jeff (and wife Glenda) and Randy Keener, Cindy (and husband Steve) Wake, Amanda (and husband Jeff) Ford, Kevin (and wife Jamie), Kyle (and wife Amanda), and Kasia Alvine; along with 14 entertaining great- grandchildren: Quinn Alvine; Margaret, Veronica, and Thomas Alvine; Jamie, Kristina, Stephanie; Westly, Kelly, Alysa, Elizabeth; Carly and Noah Wake; and Jessica Ford. He also had 6 great-great-grandchildren.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He attended Modesto Junior College and owned the Hughson Locker Plant and service station on 3rd Street for over 60 years. He also served on the Hughson Volunteer Fire Department for many years. After retiring, he and his wife operated a business at Denio’s. He had a passion for staying active, and was always repairing something. His family will miss him terribly. We love him with all of our hearts. Please share your memories at www.allenmortuary.com.
