Nicholas was born in Mecca, California to Nick and Frances Gonzales and passed away at the age of 82.  He lived in Newman, Gustine and Hilmar before settling in Turlock most recently.  Nicholas worked as a truck driver for many years, in business with his brother Manuel and then later driving for Ted Peters Trucking, Souza’s Trucking and retiring from Stavrianoudakis Enterprises.  Nicholas attended Catholic Church.  His hobbies included driving truck, building model airplanes, reading and one of his favorites cooking tamales at Christmas time.  He loved to entertain his family and friends.

He is survived by his best friend and the love of his life for 51 years Mary Ann Holmgren Gonzales; sister Mary Perez; children Linda (Jim) Harwin, Teresa McGowen, Karen Stavrianoudakis, Tim (Cheryl) Lemas, Rick Gonzales, and Cheryl Ann Gonzales; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  

Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 9:00-10:00a.m. with a funeral to follow at 10:00a.m. also at Allen Mortuary.  Burial will be held at Hilmar Cemetery.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com.
