A memorial Mass for Noe Faustino Cardoso, 83 of Azores, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Rd., Turlock.

He enjoyed playing guitar, spending time at his windmill by his home in the Azores,  grinding the corn for his friends to make their corn bread and spending time visiting his friends and family.

He is survived by his son,  Carmelino Cardoso and his wife, Maria Lucilia, of Engenho, Topo, Sao Jorge, Azores; daughters, Maria Gonsalves of Modesto, Ines Avila and her husband, Grabriel, of San Jose, Teresa Soares and her husband, Jose, of Turlock and Rosa Gonsalves and her husband, Joe, of Modesto; 14 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his two wives, Mariana Madelena da Silva in 1982 and Maria Elena Oliveira Cardoso in 2006; and brothers, Tubias Faustino Cardoso and Alforedo Faustino Cardoso.
