Patricia Ann Pierce, 78, passed away Feb. 7, 2011, at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. 

She was born in September 1932 to Ivan and Gladys Wilharm in Waterloo, Iowa. She lived in Plainfield, Iowa and married James Pierce in 1951. They moved to the Bay Area in 1959, then moved to Denair in

1971. She lived in Pine Mountain in 1993, before she settled back to Denair in 2000. 

She was an instructional aide for Denair Unified School District from 1977 until 1992. She belonged to the Denair Friends Church, and was a volunteer for the AWANA Monte Vista Children’s Ministries. Her interests included ceramics, sewing, traveling around the United States, and the San Francisco 49ers. 

Patricia is survived by her loving husband, James Pierce of Denair; children, Susan Fowle of Denair, Steven Pierce of Turlock, Tim Pierce of Turlock and Tammy McCorkle of Ceres; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by brothers, James Cole and Gary Wilharm; and sister, Diane Lacher.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10 at Allen Mortuary. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, also at Allen Mortuary, with interment to follow at the Denair Cemetery.
