Patricia Lillian Atherstone Yates, a lifelong resident of Turlock and Denair, passed away on Dec. 16, 2011, at the age of 93.

She attended Keyes and Fair Acres schools and was a Turlock High graduate. Pat married William Raymond "Ray" Yates in 1939, and they farmed in Denair for many years. She worked for JC Penney and Bonanza 99 cent stores; and was a senior aide at Denair Elementary School and Denair Library.

Pat and Ray started the Denair Senior Citizens Club in 1972, and Pat held many offices in the club. She was a long-time member of Denair Friends Church.

Pat and Ray now rest together at Turlock Memorial Park.
She is survived by her brother, Robert J. Atherstone of Modesto; six nephews; four nieces and many great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Denair Friends Church, 4043 N. Gratton Rd., Denair. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Denair Friends Church or the Denair Fire Department, 3918 N. Gratton Rd., Denair.
