Pauline Hill McDonald, a longtime resident of Turlock, California, passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 98.
Pauline was born on March 13, 1926, in Cabaniss, Oklahoma. She spent her early years in Oklahoma before moving to California as a child. She attended Modesto High School and later earned an Associate of Arts degree in microbiology from Modesto Junior College. On December 31, 1943, Pauline married Donald McDonald in Turlock, and together they built a life filled with family and dedication to their community. She worked as a lab technician in quality control at Cool Whip and Kraft Foods in Ceres for 32 years.
Pauline had a passion for sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was also an active member of several organizations, including the VFW Auxiliary, the Turlock Shrine Auxiliary, and the Turlock Rural Fire Department Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McDonald; her son, Douglas McDonald; and her grandsons, Donald McDonald, John McDonald, and Alex McGunigle. She is survived by her sons Dan McDonald and Dennis McDonald; her daughters Charmaine (Richard) Stammerjohan and Cynthia McGunigle; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home in the Small Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Turlock Funeral Home in the Main Chapel. Following the service, Pauline will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.
Pauline’s memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
