Raymond Luttrell, age 95, entered into rest at Acacia Park in Modesto under the care of Community Hospice. He was born near Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Benjamin and Audie Luttrell; the family of five children moved to Arvin, CA in the early 1930’s during the depression, dust bowl era. There they worked as a family and built a permanent home. In 1941, Raymond entered WWII and served as an ambulance driver in the European campaign and was honorably discharged with the war’s end in 1945 as a corporal of the Army 1st infantry division.

In 1946, he married the love of his life Pauline, and they moved north to Denair, where they built their home, started a family and shared 63 years of marriage. An outdoorsman, Ray loved fishing, hunting, gold panning and metal detecting. He shared these loves with his family. During his many decades in the area Ray drove a truck, worked many seasonal jobs and was known by many.  He and Pauline will forever be in the hearts of those who loved them.

Raymond is survived by his sister Jewell Pickell of Delano, CA; son Dale (Debbi) Luttrell of Ceres; grandchildren Kimberly Luttrell of Denair, Corbin Luttrell of Ceres and three great grandchildren Mathew, Lynsay and Nicholas. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruth Pauline; daughter Gayle; brothers Imen, Jay B. and Delbert.

Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 1:00-4:00p.m. Funeral will be at Allen Mortuary on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 1:00p.m. with burial to follow at Denair Cemetery.
