Ronald Lawrence Mead, 75, of Ceres, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. Mr. Mead was born September 1934 in Santa Ana, Calif. to Lawrence and Aldean Mead. He came to Turlock at the age of five, graduating in 1952 from Turlock High School. After he spent eight years in the National Guard, he became a rancher for 50 years. In the 1950s, he opened the Shell Service Station in Keyes. He was a Master Marksman in the Turlock Rifle Club, and was a firefighter for the Keyes Fire Department for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and driving his tractor.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Mead; daughter, Cecile Nesslage and her children, Andrea and U.S. Marine Lance Corporal William; daughter, Camille (Eric) Rossen; daughter, Corinne Mead and her child, Brittani; and son, Mark (Tammy) Mead and their children, Nicholas and Melanie.

Visitation was held on Friday at Allen Mortuary. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, also at Allen Mortuary, with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
