Ronald was born in Yuba City, California to Virgil and Lavon Shearer and passed away in Turlock at the age of 75.  He attended Oroville Wright Elementary School and graduated from Thomas Downey High School in 1960.  He served in the United States Air Force for four years.  Ronald worked for Stockton State Hospital before transferring to Napa State Hospital where he retired from in 2004.  Ronald was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and SIR (Sons In Retirement).  He was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Shearer; children Anna (Louie) Tavares, Michelle (Michael) Sherrod and Elizabeth (Larry) Champion; grandchildren Amanda, Louie, Marinna, Michael, Jillian and Alayna.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Ronald’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Vincent De Paul Society in Turlock or Covenant Care Hospice.

Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 3:00-6:00p.m. with a rosary to follow also at Allen Mortuary at 6:00p.m.  Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 10:00a.m. with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
