Rose Arabo Ameer was born on March 22, 1933, in Moscow, Russia. Rose passed away on March 4, 2024, at the age of 90 years old in Turlock, California.

Rose emigrated from Russia with her family in the late 1930’s due to political unrest of World War II and settled in Tehran, Iran. She later moved to Yonkers, New York in 1970 to find better opportunities and freedom, especially as a woman. Soon thereafter, Rose was joined in Yonkers by her mother, sisters, brothers, and nephews.

Rose worked in Yonkers as a Pastry Chef for over 25 years. Then, in 1995 she and her husband moved to Turlock to retire. She was a member of the Assyrian Church of the East, Mar Addai Parish.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Constantine Ameer, her mother, Lidia Arabo Sayad, her father, Khoshaba Arabo, her sister, Vardeh Arbo, her sister, Zina Piro and her nephew, George Piro.

She is survived by her sister, Shamiran Sayad, her brothers, Sabri Sayad, Pavlik “Paul” Simone, and Edward Sayad. Rose is also survived by Dariko Pirouti and Mariko Arabo, her cousins and family matriarchs. In Turlock, Rose also leaves behind her nephews, Ramson Piro, Romeo Piro, Ramin Piro, and Joseph Arabo as well as her niece, Jozefin Yadegar. In Connecticut, Rose is survived by her niece, Sabrina Sayad Chimirri and nephew, Daniel Sayad. Also, there are multiple nephews and nieces who currently live in Iran.

Rose loved her family, whom she baked many gourmet-styled pastries at holidays and other special occasions. Rose enjoyed occasionally joining her husband at horse races and playing bingo. Rose was dearly loved by her family and friends alike. Rest in eternal peace.
