Ruby was born in Oklahoma to Charles and Katie Holland in 1926, and moved to Porterville in the 1930s during the dust bowl. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles where she worked for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft and later worked in San Francisco as a waitress. In 1961, Ruby moved to Turlock where she lived and operated a taxi service for 25 years. She lived in Fresno for the last seven years. Her hobbies included gardening and working on crossword puzzles.
Ruby is survived by her son, Jack Exe; sister, Viola Denelli; and brother, Cecil Holland. She was preceded in death by siblings, Lena Counts, Glenn Holland and Irene Allen.
