Sharon Mohr, 65, of Turlock passed away after suffering unexpected complications during routine medical procedures. Sharon’s family stood vigilant by her side through the weeks and days of illness and pain, until taking the grace of God’s hand and the journey home to heaven.

Sharon was a very compassionate person. Most of her working years were spent caring for others in one capacity or another.  She began her medical career as a CNA.  After taking some time off to care for a loved one, she returned to her professional role as a caregiver, moving on to become an ombudsman, looking over the care of others. Sharon was an advocate for people, ensuring they received the same tenderness, respect and care that they needed.

Sharon was dedicated to her career, but her family came first. She enjoyed family gatherings, holidays and BBQs.  She also truly enjoyed traveling — some of her favorite places to re-visit included Las Vegas and Monterey. Sharon was also an avid reader and put her library card to good use.

Sharon had a deep seeded faith in God. She was a member of the New Hope Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Keyes and her church family was an important part of her life.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Phillip Mohr; two daughters, Tina Pritchett and Jo Lynn Edwards, all of Turlock; brother Bill Ashby of Redding, CA; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by brothers, Jimmie Lee Ashby and LeRoy Flippo; and grandson David Thuemler.

A memorial service will be on July 21 at 10 a.m. at the New Hope Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Keyes. A celebration of her and time of reflection will follow. Remembrances can be made to: “The Memorial Fund for Sharon Mohr” at Golden One Credit Union, Acct# 1450379.
