Sharon Roberta (Cordell) Silva, 76 of Turlock, California passed away peacefully with her husband, Manual, at her side on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Turlock.

Sharon was born on May 16, 1946, in Phoenix, Arizona to Bill and Carleen (Ralston) Cordell. Preceded in death by her parents. Survived by her husband of 36 years, Manuel; daughter, Tamra Spade (David Murphy); son Doug Holmes (Irene); sister Ann Cordell; 5 grandchildren; Richard Fortado III (Amanda), Derrik Holmes (Amber); Kasondra Fortado, Kali Spade, Lexi, Holmes, and 4 great grandchildren; Niece Toni Cordell, and great nephew. She was the oldest daughter of two.

Sharon enjoyed an active life when she was young. She loved dancing, cheerleading, and riding horses. As she got older, Sharon enjoyed traveling. In addition to hers and Manuel’s travels, she led numerous Chamber of Commerce groups on trips to China and Europe.

Sharon was an entrepreneur owning multiple businesses. Even though she enjoyed having her own businesses, her goal was to attend college and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communications from California State University, Stanislaus.

After graduating, Sharon worked for United Cabral Palsy in fund development. She then moved on to be the Executive Director for the Havens Women Center (Modesto and Merced). After a successful career as the President and Chief Executive Officer at the Turlock Chamber of Commerce, Sharon finally retired. Sharon had a servant’s heart and lived by 1 Peter 4:10: “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various Forms.” As a result of the philosophy, retirement didn’t last long for her. She started SS Consulting and contracted with Merced Chamber of Commerce and Los Banos Downtown Association.

Sharon lived to work and loved being involved making a difference which she did everywhere she went. She loved her family and was always there for them. She had a passion for life, her family and friends and it was obvious for the town she dedicated her life to, Turlock.

Memorial services are set for May 16th, 3:00 pm at the Cornerstone Church 4105 Crowell rd., Turlock. A reception will follow the service. Check with Allen Mortuary for updated service information. May 16th is Sharon’s Birthday and will be her celebration of life. If you know Sharon, she loved planning events, she said, “this is my last party I’m going to plan.”
