Stanley Delinski Jr., 82, of Turlock, passed away at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday. He was born in Omaha, Neb. to Stanley and Mickelina Delinski in 1927. Stanley was raised in Peoria, Ill. and enlisted in the Navy during WW II. After the war, he moved to San Bernardino. Stanley met Joanna Jones and married her in 1950. They lived most of their lives in the San Bernardino area before settling to Turlock in 1999 to be closer to their daughter.
Stanley worked for Santa Fe Railroad for 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Turlock. In his younger years, he was very active at Calvary Baptist in Fontana, Calif. Stanley enjoyed camping, bowling, square dancing and woodworking. Most of all, God and family were his life.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Joanna of Turlock; children, Connie Jackson of Turlock and Daniel Delinski of Virginia; siblings, Leo Delinski and Rita Tucker, both of Peoria, Ill.; grandchildren, Chris, Tommy, Staci and Brad; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30 at Allen Mortuary. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31 at First Baptist Church in Turlock, with a graveside service following at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Mortuary.
