Steven Scott Rudeen

Steven Scott Rudeen died unexpectedly on June 4, 2021. Steve was born on January 29, 1971 in Turlock, California.  He grew up attending Turlock Covenant Church. He went to Turlock High School where he played varsity tennis and graduated in 1989. He went on to Chico State University and graduated with a BS in Finance in 1993. After graduation, he worked in financial advising and then banking.  As he took on new opportunities, he lived in a few different communities. In 2000, he moved to Spokane Valley, WA to be closer to his parents who had moved there. His church in Spokane Valley was Redeemer Lutheran. His most recent position was in management for U.S. Bank, where he worked since 2008.

Steve was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys. When he wasn’t dressed for work, he usually wore Dallas Cowboy gear. When they were kids, his brother Jeff gave him the nickname Buck after Roger Staubach, the Cowboy quarterback Hall of Famer. Steve was an accomplished water skier. He grew up spending his summers waterskiing at Turlock Lake and a family cabin at Deer Lake in Washington. Steve was intelligent and a deep thinker. He was loved by many and maintained meaningful friendships. He was especially close with his brother Jeff. He was a movie connoisseur with strong opinions. He adopted a kitten named Kiera. He loved his cat and supported animal shelters through the Lauren McCluskey Foundation’s mission of improving animal welfare. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Rudeen and his niece Lauren McCluskey. He is survived by his father Ross Rudeen, his brother Jeff Rudeen, his sister and brother-in-law Jill and Matt McCluskey, and his nephew Ryan McCluskey.
