Bill was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Alvin and Evelyn Wirth and passed away at the age of 94.  He was raised in Hastings, MN before coming to California at the age of 14.  During World War II Bill enlisted in the US Coast Guard where he served for two years.  He worked in the transportation industry for 40 years and later for the City of Modesto until his retirement.  

Bill will be remembered for his positive attitude and his love for living life.  He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, camping and he was a pilot.  Being from Minnesota he was a Vikings and Twins fan.  

Bill was involved with youth sports programs and coached youth bowling leagues.  He was active with S.I.R.S (Sons In Retirement) for many years.  He enjoyed spending time with his wife Jackie and together they remained very active.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Jackie Wirth; children Livvy Jo (John) Drahos, Deborah (Bob) Baker and Jennifer (Don) Brooks; sister Carol Widmer; grandchildren Jason Baker, Lorna (Joe) Baker-Wilson and Darek Brooks.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Leo Wirth and sister Mary Bickler.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 1:00p.m.
