Weeks before he takes a snap in his final season of college football, University of Nevada quarterback and Pitman High graduate Colin Kaepernick has been named to two national Watch Lists.On Monday, it was announced that he was named to the Watch List for the 2010 Walter Camp Player of the Year award and the Maxwell Award, given annually to the nation’s outstanding college football player.Kaepernick is entering his senior season with two All-Western Athletic Conference selections, the 2008 WAC Offensive Player of the Year award and is ranked in the top 15 in career rushing yards by a quarterback and in career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. He needs roughly 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 passing yards to become just the second player in college football history to throw for 8,000 yards and rush for 4,000 yards.Nevada’s first game is Sept. 2, when the Wolf Pack face Eastern Washington.On Nov. 13, the Wolf Pack will play at Fresno State at 7 p.m. in WAC action.
