Meza wins singles title at Fall Invite

Stanislaus women’s tennis player Davina Meza had a busy and fruitful day at the Dominican Fall Invitational as the sophomore captured the top singles title on Saturday.
Meza defeated Dominican's Irina Morozova, 6-1, 6-2, in the Flight A Singles championship to win the tournament title. The Warrior had advanced by beating Amal Ben El Hadj of Academy of Arts, 6-3, 7-6 in the semifinals.
In doubles play, Meza and partner McKenzy Harden played in the semifinal match but dropped an 8-3 decision to AAU's Michelle Dandik and Kinga Kurczbuch.
Harden also won her singles consolation match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Holy Names' Jasmine Martinez.
Two Warriors' doubles teams also posted wins in consolation play.
