Warriors Paul Smith and Rob Damschen are among a total of 109 players across eight regions - East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central and West - who earned Division II PING All-Region honors for 2013 by the GCAA.
For Damschen, this is his second All-Region nod. Damschen was a third team All-American last season and this year, in 2012-13, was the Warriors' leader and No. 1 player. He finished fourth, two shots back of the leaders, at the NCAA Championships earlier this month. Damschen finished in the top 10 six times including a win and concluded the year with a 73.0 stroke average.
Smith, the 2012 CCAA Freshman of the Year, picked up his first All-Region award after a solid sophomore season. Smith ended up with a 73.5 average for the 2012-13 season as the Warriors' No. 2 player. He had seven top 10 finishes and three times in the top five this past season.
Both Damschen and Smith were All-CCAA players with Damschen named as the CCAA's Most Valuable Player of the Year.
The All-American awards will be announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America later this summer.
