A member of the Stanislaus athletic department is in Mexico as a representative of the U.S. National Team at the 2011 Pan Am Games, currently taking place in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Kim Duyst, the Warriors' Associate Athletics Director and former track and field head coach, is serving as an event leader on the U.S. Track and Field national team staff. Duyst was appointed by the U.S. Olympic Committee to serve on the USATF team in June and is currently in Guadalajara preparing the Americans for the start of the track and field events.
The 2011 Pan Am Games runs through Oct. 30 with track and field events scheduled to start on Oct. 23.
"It is an honor for me personally and professionally to be able to serve on the U.S. team once again," Duyst said. "I am looking forward to support our national team at one of the biggest international events for track and field."
Duyst served on the national team twice before as assistant manager for the women's team at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, Canada. In 2003, she was the assistant manager for the men's team at the World Championships in Paris, France.
