Turlock grad leads Sonoma State golf to nationals

For the first time in school history, the Sonoma State women's golf team has qualified for the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships following a third-place finish in the Super Region 4 Golf Championship at Amarillo, Texas.

The Seawolves were led by second-place finisher and Turlock High graduate Spencer Heller, who shot a 74-80-74--228 in the 54-hole event at Tascosa Country Club.
Heller finished in a tie for second place with Tarleton State's Jacqueline Lau.

The top three teams — Tarleton State, Cal State Monterey Bay and Sonoma State — advances to the national championship tournament that will be held at Longbow Golf Course on May 12-15 in Mesa, Ariz.
