Two Warriors earn CCAA honors

Cal State Stanislaus men's forward Reggie Jones and women's guard Theresa Henderson were both named the California Collegiate Athletic Association's basketball Players of the Week for the week of Dec. 5-11, it was announced on Monday.
The award marks the second time this season Jones has been honored. Jones, a senior from Paterson, N.J., totaled 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists while helping the Warriors to a 79-77 overtime victory over CCAA rival Chico State. He connected on 54.5 percent (6-of-11) of his field goal attempts, and converted 12-of-14 free throw attempts.
Cal State Stanislaus returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Rohnert Park to take on Sonoma State at 7:30 p.m.
Henderson, a senior from San Pedro, named all-tournament at the CCAA/Pac West Shootout after averaging 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals while helping the Warriors split a pair of games against No. 17 Grand Canyon and Notre Dame de Namur.

Henderson scored a season-high 24 points, on 11-of-26 shooting, accounting for nearly half of Cal State Stanislaus' 52 points. She followed that effort with a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a 71-69 win over Notre Dame de Namur.

Cal State Stanislaus returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Rohnert Park to take on CCAA rival Sonoma State at 5:30 p.m.
