Warriors end run at nationals

Both Cal State Stanislaus' Derrhea McLiechey and Denali Foldager competed in the preliminary heats of their respective events during Thursday's NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships.
However, both Warriors will end their season after not qualifying for today's finals.
On the campus of Johnson C. Smith University, McLiechey ran a personal best 55.39 seconds in the 400-meter dash, but finished eighth in her heat. She entered the week ranked 15th with the previous best time of 55.45 seconds.
Celethia Byrd of Angelo State posted the fastest qualifying time of 53.14 in the 400.
In the women's 3000-meter steeplechase, Foldager was eighth in her heat of nine with a time of 11 minutes, 9.41 seconds. She too will not be running in today's finals.
Foldager made the trip with the 16th best time in the country with a personal best and Stanislaus record 10:46.22.
Adams State's Alicia Nelson topped the field with a time of 10:38.66 on Thursday.
