Warriors volleyball fails to net victory

California State University, Stanislaus' volleyball team had a tough weekend, dropping both Friday's match against San Francisco State and Saturday's match against Sonoma State in straight sets. After opening the CCAA season with a straight set victory against Humboldt State, the Warriors (4-8 overall, 1-3 CCAA) have lost their last three matches without a single set win.
Stanislaus put up a fight on Friday against San Francisco but comebacks from the Bay Area squad proved to be too much for the Warriors to handle. The Gators claimed victory with scores of 25-19, 25-21, and 25-22 in the closely contested match to remain undefeated in CCAA play. The Warriors led in all three sets but couldn't maintain their rhythm or momentum.
Saturday's effort was foiled by a tough and efficient Seawolves offense that stifled Stanislaus 25-13, 25-18, 25-17. Andrea Fett was the only bright spot for the Warriors as she recorded her 10th double digit kill match with a total of 11. She also had a season-best attacking percentage with 29 attempts and only two errors as well as three block-assists and four digs.
