At the prestigious USA Volleyball National tournaments in Reno, Nev., which finished on July 1, six Turlock-area players — who qualified through Rage Volleyball in Ripon — made their marks, as one of the representatives went home with an individual recognition.

Maci Murdock of Pitman High was selected to the Junior National Championship 17-and-under Gold Division All-Tournament Team after helping her own squad to a fifth-place finish during the two-week tournament. One of her teammates was Ashley Solis, who also plays for Pitman.

Dutcher Middle School students Deborah Oliveira and Lauren Solis joined forces on the U-12 team, which placed seventh in the American Division. Pitman sophomore Sierrah Miller played for the U-15 squad that took 13th in the National Division. And Turlock High freshman Courtney Crivelli and her 14-U teammates placed 18th in the American Division.
