It's safe to say any little boy who dons a baseball uniform wants to turn pro someday.

Some do, some don't.

For a collection of local talent, they get a taste of it firsthand by fielding grounders and catching fly balls.

On June 12, more than a dozen players from the Pitman, Turlock, Denair and Turlock Christian baseball teams will play on the Colorado Rockies affiliate Modesto Nuts' home field — John Thurman Field. That's where the 21st Annual Stanislaus County High School All-Star game will take place.

The event is broken down into two games. The small-schools (Denair and TC) will play at 3:05 p.m., and the large-schools (Pitman and Turlock) will follow with the 7:05 p.m.-nightcap.

The group includes Turlock's Ryan Flood, Vince Wheeland, Kevin Kramer and Ryan Brown; Pitman's Colton Risley, Clay Cozzitorto and Hayden Baldwin; Denair's Brett Arnold, Brian Willis and Craig Miller; and Turlock Christian's Robbie Smallwood, Trevor Starn and Cody Alldrin.

Also, a number of local coaches will participate in the annual get-together.

Turlock's Mark de la Motte will coach the West Large-School All-Stars, and Turlock Christian's Jon Valenti and his assistant, Alex Smith, will lead the West Small-School team.
