The Pitman High School junior varsity baseball team had an outstanding season this year, sweeping all opponents and ending with a 15-0 record.

“Every player during the season, even though it was shortened, contributed at one point — every single one,” said head coach Randy Ferreira.

Ferreira said he knew coming into the season the Pride would have a good team, as they were returning three captains — Christian Jacinto, Andrew Balentine and Brandon Leon — and bringing up a host of talent from the frosh squad.

“We hit the ground running right from tryouts. I knew we were pitching deep; our offense was pretty potent all year, but our pitching was definitely a plus for us,” said Ferreira.

Ferreira attributes the team’s success to the players’ natural talent, their buy-in at every practice and how well the athletes get along both on the field and off.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how well they do in the next few years,” said Ferreira.
