The Hilmar High football team secured another statement win on Saturday afternoon, when the Yellowjackets emerged out of Castroville with a 33-6 nonconference victory over North Monterey County High.

The Yellowjackets (3-1 overall) scored all 33 of their points before the Condors, who were playing without their suspended starting quarterback, got a meaningless score late in the game. Hilmar scored on its first play only 20 seconds into the game after quarterback Andrew Olson connected with Ryan White for a 24-yard touchdown.

From there, it was all Hilmar.

This Friday, the Yellowjackets will have a tougher challenge against a complete Ripon High, which is 4-0 entering the Trans-Valley League opener at Hilmar High at 7:30 p.m. Hilmar has won three straight games since losing 30-27 to Beyer High in the season opener.

Against North Monterey County, the Yellowjackets were ahead 22-0 at halftime.
