Turlock girls notch fifth straight win

The Turlock High varsity girls soccer team is on a winning streak after they secured their fifth straight win on Tuesday on the road against Tracy High, 1-0.

This shutout also marked the seventh in nine wins so far for the Bulldogs of Turlock High.

Turlock is currently 9-1-1 and ranked No. 104 in California and 235th in the nation. 

They have also outscored their first 11 opponents 42-6, including winning six of the last seven.

Turlock will next host El Capitan at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Bulldog boys soccer remains undefeated

The unbeaten streak continues for the Turlock High varsity boys soccer team, which has been on a tear so far and recently defeated Atwater High on the road in a 4-1 final on Tuesday to secure their fifth straight victory.

During that five-game winning streak, Turlock has outscored Jesuit, Casa Roble, Del Campo and Atwater a combined 21-2. This included three shutout wins in a two-day span.

From Dec. 11 to Tuesday, Turlock played in six games going 5-0-1 in the process.

Their current record stands at 9-0-3 and are ranked No. 11 in California and No. 33 in the country.

Turlock will next take on Pacheco from home at 6 p.m. Jan. 3.

 

Hilmar girls soccer kicks off league with shut out win over Hughson

There was no better way to kick off league play in the Trans Valley League than the way Hilmar High’s varsity girls soccer team did after they blanked Hughson High, 6-0, on Tuesday.

Cheyanne Cabral and Ainsley Wood both had two goals each for Hilmar.

Lexia Avalos and Genevieve Fontes each finished with a goal apiece.

The win marked the seventh of the year in 11 games played so far.

It was also the third win over the last four games.

Hilmar has outscored its opponents 49-15 so far and have not lost a TVL game since falling to Modesto Christian on May 3, 2016.
