Do you have a son or daughter that likes basketball? Are you a young basketball player yourself, hoping to improve your skills? Well in less than a month there will be two basketball camps in the area to choose from, the Bulldogs Boys Basketball Camp and the Stanislaus County Elite Basketball Camp.
The Stanislaus County Elite Basketball Camp will be held from June 4-7 at Riverbank High School and will be run by Jeremy Russotti and the 1% Club. The camp is a collaborative effort between the Stanco Stampede and the Central Valley Hornets and will accept athletes from 3rd to 12th grade. A registration fee of $185 is required.
Russotti is the owner of Northern California’s 1% Club and has made a name for himself by training high school basketball players who have gone on to the McDonald’s All-American team as well as the NCAA Division I and professional ranks. He has been hired by both the LA Lakers and Golden State Warriors as their skill trainer and coordinator for their D League affiliates and his most recent high school prospect is Shazazz Muhammad, a D I and potential NBA prospect.
“We train for gains and not to maintain,” is the camps motto. Athletes attending the camp will be exposed to programs that are progressive, age appropriate, and challenging.
The Bulldogs Boys Basketball Camp will be held from May 29-31/ Athletes from age 7-14 are welcome and a flat fee of $60 will be required to register. The camp will focus on basic skills and fundamental instruction as well as game time decisions and strategy. Athletes will also receive a camp T shirt. Local college and high school coaches will act as the instructors and the camp is billed to be both instructive and fun.
