Week 9 saw the Turlock Youth Football Vikings traveling to Atwater to take on the Falcons. The Vikings took over the Falcons' home field, winning at all levels. Pee Wee started the day with a shutout victory, 48-0; JV followed the winning streak with a 42-0 victory. Varsity ended the day by defeating the Falcons 47-12.
The 49ers traveled to Oakdale on Saturday and almost had a perfect road trip, however, Varsity was unable to pull off a win against the mighty Stampede losing 48-14. Pee Wee defeated the Stampede 27-7; JV had the opportunity to show off their talent and left Oakdale with a 21- 0 shutout.
Next week is the biggest game for both Turlock teams. They will challenge each other in the take all BUD Bowl. This game will allow team bragging rights to say they have won this year’s game. The teams will face off and in the end there will be only one winning team. This win at youth level, could be compared to those of a Super Bowl win. Game times are 1:30 p.m. for Rookies, 3 p.m. for Pee Wee, 5 p.m. for JV and Varsity at 7 p.m.
Details for the Rookie playoffs have been determined. The games will be held in Livingston. Both Turlock teams will enter the playoffs as fifth seeds. On Sunday, the teams will battle for the playoffs. The 49ers will take on the Wildcats at 5 p.m. and the Vikings will play the Seahawks at 7 p.m. Good Luck to both of our Rookie teams.
