R&B artist Ashanti will be performing at the Stanislaus County Fair at 8:30 p.m. July 16 on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage. The concert will be hosted by 97.7 & 98.3 KWIN and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“Ashanti will put on a fantastic show,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Her upbeat R&B/ Hip-Hop tempo will have the audience mesmerized and dancing the night away.”

Ashanti burst onto the music scene with her 2002 smash hit, self-titled debut album "Ashanti." It landed the top spot on both the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts, selling 504,593 units in its first week. With her hit song, "Foolish," Ashanti also secured the top spot on six Billboard charts simultaneously, including Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop Airplay, The Billboard 200, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks, Hot 100 Airplay, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Hot 100!  "Foolish" stayed on the Billboard charts for 11 consecutive weeks. 

Ashanti has also had success in the acting business. In her feature film debut she co-starred with Samuel L. Jackson in the box office hit “Coach Carter.” Ashanti's other films include “Resident Evil Extinction” and “John Tucker Must Die” alongside Jessie Metcalfe.
