The Carnegie Arts Center is hoping to encourage young artists this summer through a number of day camps for kids ages 5 through 14.

There are still spots available in upcoming camps and classes. The Art Camps run from 9 a.m. to noon or 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Art Adventures class for 5 and 6 year olds are offered from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday mornings once each month.

A list of titles, dates and appropriate ages is below. More detailed information on each camp can be found on the Carnegie’s website, along with registration information, at: www.carnegieartsturlock.org/current-schedule. Registration information is also available at the Carnegie Arts officer between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock.

— June 25-29: Animation Basics, ages 10-14, $150 fee

— July 7: Art Adventures, ages 5-6, $25 fee

— July 9-13: Masterpieces I, ages 8-12, $150 fee

— July 23-27, Comics Camp, ages 8-12, $150 fee

— July 23-27, Delve into Drawing, ages 11-14, $150 fee

— July 30-Aug. 3, Art Explorers II, ages 7-10, $150 fee

— Aug. 4, Art Adventures, ages 5-6, $25 fee

— Aug. 6-10, Masterpieces II, ages 8-12, $150 fee

— Aug. 6-10, Painting Studio, ages 11-14, $150 fee

 

Showcase exhibit opens at Carnegie

From more than 200 entries, jurors have selected 84 works that will be on display in the annual Carnegie Art Showcase exhibition taking place this summer at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock. The juried exhibition is a celebration of artistic excellence. The show opened Wednesday and will be on view in the CAC’s Ferrari Gallery until Sept. 5.
