Charges for hit and run driver after crashing into home
TPD

An 18-year-old was arrested on hit and run and driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle into a home, injuring his passenger as a result.

The collision was reported to the Turlock Police Department at 11:20 p.m. on Saturday in the 400 block of Vassar Avenue.

Turlock Police officers were dispatched to the Vassar residence for a hit and run call regarding a pickup truck that had crashed into a residence and fled the area.

The pickup truck was already gone when officers arrived and they began a search of the area.

While searching the area, another reporting party called regarding the same pickup truck driving southbound on Lander Avenue.

The driver of the truck, who was later identified as Jorge Vazquez, 18, pulled into a driveway in the 1500 block of Lander Avenue.

An officer arrived at the residence and spoke to both Vazquez and a female passenger.  The female passenger sustained a non-life-threatening injury as a result of the crash, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.

The police report stated Vazquez displayed objective signs of intoxication and he was arrested and booked for hit and run causing injury and DUI.
