A 19-year-old man was killed and another man suffered multiple wounds in a shooting Tuesday evening in Turlock, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The deceased was identified as Amado Escobedo, 19, of Ceres.

At 6:58 p.m. Tuesday the police department dispatched officers to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 700 block of Wayside Drive.

When officers arrived they found two gunshot victims, said Turlock Police spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.

The 19-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The second victim, a man age unknown, had multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a Modesto hospital.

“His injuries appear to be non-life-threatening,” Sanchez said. “He’s still in the hospital receiving treatment.”

The investigation is ongoing and detectives believe it is an isolated incident.
