A Turlock Police officer patrolling the south end of town caught a couple red-handed as they purloined parts from a stolen truck and put them into a stolen vehicle.
The officer was on patrol around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Atlanta Court, when he spotted a man and a woman dismantling a pickup truck and putting the parts into a Honda, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
A check of the vehicles showed them both to have been reported stolen.
Thomas Reed, 31, and Carri Blanco, 35, were both arrested on suspicion of auto theft. Reed also was arrested for possession of burglary tools when he was found in possession of multiple keys for a variety of vehicles.
