Duo nabbed for auto theft

The Stanislaus County Auto Theft Taskforce and the Turlock Police Department arrested two women on auto theft charges after they were apprehended driving a stolen vehicle.

On Monday the officers spotted two women in a 1992 Jeep Cherokee that had been reported stolen out of Milpitas on May 11.

The officers followed the vehicle as it headed down Sycamore Avenue and stopped at an apartment complex, where the officers moved in and arrested the two women without incident.

The driver, Beatrice Rubio, 46, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft and possession of stolen property. She also was charged with a parole violation.

The passenger, Teresa Humphrey, 49, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of concentrated cannabis.
