The Turlock Police Department is investigating two drive-by shootings that happened hours apart in two different Turlock neighborhoods.

No one was injured in either shooting, though police officers found multiple bullets lodged in three homes and several vehicles.

The first shooting was reported at 8:56 p.m. Tuesday in the 3900 block of Wright Street. The first officers to respond to the report of shots fired found a residence and a vehicle had been struck during the drive-by shooting. The officers were able to collect evidence at the scene of the shooting, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Mike Parmley.

Officers also canvassed the neighborhood and were able to obtain video surveillance that showed two vehicles likely involved in the drive-by shooting.

The vehicles were described as a dark colored sedan and a light-colored SUV which were seen on the video surveillance fleeing the area after the shooting had occurred, Parmley said.

The second drive-by shooting was reported at 1:01 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Julian Street.

The police department received multiple calls of shots fired in the area of N. Walnut Road and Canal Street. One caller was able to pinpoint the shots as coming from the 800 block of Julian Street.

"Officers located a vehicle that appeared to have been struck by gunfire and additional evidence in the roadway," Parmley said. "Officers later located two residences and two additional vehicles that had been struck by gunfire."

Parmley said officers found evidence that at least two types of firearms were used in this shooting. No witnesses or suspects have been identified in this incident.

Parmley said it is possible the two shootings are related, but at this point the department couldn't confirm a connection.
