Four days after the fatal stabbing death of a Hilmar woman, the Merced County Sheriff’s department continues its manhunt for the suspected killer.
The sheriff’s department identified the 36-year-old victim in the fatal attack as Armanda Llanos-Flores. She had been kept on life-support since the attack Wednesday night. Her family made the decision to remove her from life-support on Friday and she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, sheriff spokesman Deputy Tom MacKenzie said.
Thirty-eight year old Jesus Ortega, the boyfriend of Llanos-Flores, has been identified as the suspect in the murder. The sheriff’s department believes Ortega may be trying to flee to Mexico. It’s suspected he is driving a white two-door vehicle, possibly a 2006 Honda Accord with the license plate number of 5SPE198.
According to the sheriff’s department, Llanos-Flores was stabbed by Ortega when she was trying to leave their Hilmar residence with her two teenage daughters. A 48-year-old male relative of the deceased who tried to help Llanos-Flores was also stabbed during the domestic assault. He has been treated and released for his wound, the sheriff’s department reported.
The investigation into the attack also led to the discovery of two methamphetamine labs and the seizure of crystal methamphetamine and chemicals used in the production of the narcotic.
