The Turlock Police Department continues to search for leads in the whereabouts of a Turlock man wanted for a shooting last week.
Anthony Fuentes, 28, is suspected of shooting a man Friday and is currently being sought by investigators. He is wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an occupied vehicle and for discharging a firearm during a commission of a crime.
The shooting first came to light around 12:30 a.m. Friday when callers reported to the police department that shots were heard in the 2600 block of Porsche Strasse.
The first officers arriving at the scene found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The victim was shot while driving a vehicle, which later was found to be stolen. Investigators are trying to determine if the victim was responsible for stealing the vehicle, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.
Fuentes has a lengthy criminal history, including prior convictions for burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of marijuana and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The Turlock Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance on locating the whereabouts of Fuentes. If Fuentes is located, do not approach him or attempt contact, and call 9-1-1. The firearm which was used during this incident was not recovered at the scene and Fuentes should be considered armed and dangerous.
