The Turlock Police Department is investigating into who and why a pipe bomb was left outside a Turlock residence.

The pipe bomb was found in the front yard of a home in the 2500 block of Oxford Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The police department called out the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad. The unit deployed its robot and detonated the device in place. It left a small hole in the yard, but no injuries were reported.

At this time investigators do not have any suspects or a possible motive for the incident, said police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb.
