A Turlock man is wanted on a variety of criminal charges after eluding arrest during a vehicle pursuit Thursday night.
Jerardo Carlos, 34, is wanted for felony evasion, transportation of marijuana, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday a Turlock Police officer spotted Carlos in the 800 block of Jessica Street getting into a Dodge Durango. The officer recognized Carlos and knew he had outstanding warrants for his arrest and did not have a valid driver’s license.
The officer attempted to pull Carlos over, but Carlos ignored the officer and instead sped away, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.
During the pursuit Carlos sped through several posted stop signs and hit a top speed of 90 miles per hour, said Rodrigues.
In the 14000 block of W. Harding Road in Delhi the Dodge became disabled and Carlos fled the area on foot.
In the Dodge, which turned out to be a stolen vehicle that had not been reported at the time, officers found a large package of marijuana.
Anyone with information about Carlos’ whereabouts can call the police department’s tip line at 668-5550 ext. 6780.
