The Turlock police and fire departments are investigating a suspected case of arson after an abandoned home went up in flames Monday afternoon.

The home in the 1300 block of Dianne Drive is believed to have previously been the site of a marijuana growing operation, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Russ Holeman. The home had been abandoned for some time, but there was evidence that a woman had been living there recently, Holeman said.

The fire department’s investigator suspected the fire was started intentionally and is looking to determine the cause and origin.
