A 38-year-old Turlock man is being sought on attempted murder charges after shooting a man multiple times, leaving him with serious injuries.
The Turlock Police department is seeking the whereabouts of Amado Mikey Gonzalez for the shooting that critically injured a 44-year-old Turlock man May 12.
Gonzalez is wanted for attempted homicide and being a felon in possession of a weapon, said Turlock Police Detective Tim Redd.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his lower back and legs. At the time the injuries were considered life-threatening, though now the man is in stable condition.
The shooting was reported shortly before 4 a.m. May 12 in the 600 block of Twentieth Century Boulevard. Several callers reported hearing shots fired and one caller stated a man could be heard yelling that he had been shot.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed information identifying Gonzalez as the prime suspect. Around 3 a.m. Tuesday investigators located Gonzalez’s vehicle on Twentieth Century Boulevard and had it taken to the Public Safety Facility.
A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and inside it investigators found a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting, Redd said.
Gonzalez is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone spotting him should not approach him, but instead call the Turlock Police dispatch at 668-1200 or 911.
