A woman unloading groceries in front of her home was pushed, kicked, and robbed by a young woman.
Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, the victim, a woman in her 40s, was unloading her groceries in front of her residence in the 1000 block of E. Hawkeye Avenue.
A blue Honda stopped in the area and a woman about 20 years old got out and ran up behind the victim, Turlock Police Lt. Ron Reid said. The suspect pushed the woman to the ground and kicked her in the stomach.
The victim tried to fight the woman off, but the suspect wrenched the purse from the victim and ran to the car, which was about 100 yards away.
The victim was checked at a hospital for complaints of pain, but was not seriously injured in the attack, Reid said.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic woman about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 110 pounds. She has long brown hair and wore it up in a ponytail.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the police department at 668-5550.
