Students from Elim and Merquin elementary schools had a serious case of gold fever during Gold Rush Day, held this week. Fourth grade teacher Verne Davis said the educational experience is tied into California’s fourth grade social studies curriculum. Parent volunteers helped to run the day for more than 150 students.
