Kamali named dean of CSU Stanislaus College of Natural Sciences

Reza Kamali, the current dean of the School of Science and Technology at Cameron University in Lawton, Okla., has been named the new dean of the CSU Stanislaus College of Natural Sciences.

Kamali previously served as department head and professor in the Department of Computer Information Technology and Graphics at Purdue University Calumet, Hammond, Ind. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Drexel University, an M.S. in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Arkansas, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Arkansas, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Tehran.

“Reza Kamali is an experienced dean who has had significant success in all of his previous administrative positions,” said CSU Stanislaus Provost James Strong. “He brings a high energy level, an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset and excellent leadership skills. He will greatly advance the mission of the college.”

Kamali will assume the post on Jan. 1, 2012. He will replace Robert Marino, who is serving as interim dean.
