Merced College to offer Customer Service Academy

Merced College, in partnership with the Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce, will offer a professional development training program through the college’s Customer Service Academy.

Morning and afternoon workshops will be offered on the last two Thursdays of each month, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Topics will include “Customer  Service,” “Team Building,” “Attitude in the Workplace,” “Values and Ethics,” “Stress Management,” “Time Management,” “Conflict Resolution,” “Decision Making and Problem Solving,” and “Managing Organizational Change.”

The first workshop in the series, “Communication in the Workplace,” will be held on Jan. 24 and 31. Registration is $23, and participants earn a half-unit of college credit.

Workshops will be held at the College Business Resource Center, 630 West 19th St., downtown Merced.

The academy has operated for 13 years, serving thousands of students and winning national awards. Over 70 California Community Colleges offer the Customer Service academy.
