Congressional debate set for Saturday

District 10 Congressional candidates Jeff Denham and Josh Harder will finally face off on the issues important to voters during a live-audience debate on Saturday.

This debate, the only one involving a public audience with the two candidates, will be hosted and moderated by the Turlock Journal. While tickets to the event have already been distributed — with each candidate receiving 40 percent of the tickets and the Journal handing out 20 percent of the tickets to the general public through a lottery system — you can still watch the debate live at all MNC newspaper websites.

The debate will be livestreamed — with the partnership of Univision 19 — at turlockjournal.com, cerescourier.com, oakdaleleader.com and mantecabulletin.com.

The Journal will also accept your question suggestions on our Facebook page and Twitter account. You can also email questions to: khacker@turlockjournal.com. All questions will be reviewed by the MNC editorial panel for consideration.

The high-profile race to represent California’s District 10 was targeted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as part of their campaign to flip Republican-controlled districts over to Democrats, and following Harder’s victory in the primary, Denham will defend his incumbency against the blue wave for the fourth straight election.

Issues that will be covered during the Journal’s debate include water, immigration, healthcare, transportation and party leadership.

The Turlock Journal’s District 10 Congressional candidate debate will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22.
